about

Originally Released 2024 (featuring compositions from 1926)

A fresh composition by Doctor Deathray composed of a medley of four songs recorded by James “Peg Leg” Howell in 1926. Howell was a one-legged bootlegger and Atlanta bluesman who recorded a total of 28 songs for Columbia Records in the late 1920’s. He is not among the more well remembered blues men of the 20s, but not for lack of quality in his compositions or performances.
